An influential and international gold-award-winning film director, scriptwriter, producer, talk show host, writer, and poet. She is a member of the Chinese Writers’ Association and Chairman of Golden Phoenix Film (Shanghai). She is also the founder and co-Chairman of the Mongemary International Film Festival in the United States.
She has served as a judge in several international film festivals such as the North American Chinese Short Film Exhibition and the China V Film Decade Exhibition, among many other nationally acclaimed festivals.
Her most influential work is the feature-length documentary, “Tears in Heaven” which follows a police task force for more than eight months whom risked getting shot at everyday to rescue hundreds of women and children who have become victims of human trafficking. The work has made an impact in many countries around the world, including the Italian National TV, Deutsche Welle, Cannes TV and a number of North American media have covered her and her works. She is also the first director and screenwriter in the world to film kidnappings and cooperation with the police, She is also the first director and producer in China to bring the subject matter of trafficking into film and television art.
She has worked as a director for over 20 years, during which she has created hundreds of works (e.g. documentary films, television series, screenplays, movies, novels, poems, and on-stage dramas) in Europe, China, and the United States. She has won the highest award recognized in China for television productions and the gold and silver award of the German Hamburg International Film-Television Festival and many other awards from numerous film festivals.
Her works are known for focusing on the living conditions of women, children, and the underprivileged. In fact, her works cover a wide range of fields and themes. She has shot films about homeless children and people who have suffered from AIDS. Her films have significantly changed their lives by influencing the national government and related policies.
Recently, She is focusing on writing scripts.
